Privacy Policy
Last updated
This policy explains what LiveHint.ai ("LiveHint", "we", "us") collects when you use the LiveHint desktop app, the website at livehint.ai and the dashboard, and what we do with it. In short: we keep your account, the resumes and notes you add, and usage counts. We don't store your interview audio, transcripts, screenshots or the answers you receive.
Questions or requests: [email protected].
What we collect
Account
When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID. We use them to identify your account and show who is signed in. We never see your Google password.
What you add
- Resume files you upload (PDF, DOCX, TXT or Markdown), and the structured details we extract from them: work history, projects, achievements, skills and education.
- Profiles and notes: profile names, target roles and the markdown notes you write.
- Preferences, such as the programming language for coding answers.
Usage
- Hint counts: when an answer is delivered we record the time, which tab it came from and the number of AI tokens used. We do not record the question or the answer.
- Interview sessions: start and end time, platform, app version, and a title or company name if you give one.
- Signed-in computers: the computer's name, operating system, app version and when it was last active, so you can see and sign out devices from the dashboard.
- Technical data: IP address (recorded at sign-up and used for rate limiting and abuse prevention) and short-lived server logs.
What we don't keep
When you use the desktop app, the content of your interview passes through our servers to an AI provider to produce an answer, and is then discarded:
- Audio. While listening is on, the app streams audio from your microphone, your computer's system audio, or both (your choice) to our servers, which relay it in real time to Google's Gemini API for transcription and answers. We don't record or store the audio.
- Transcripts, questions and answers. These live in the app's memory for the current conversation and in our servers' memory only while a request or listening session is active. Clearing the conversation or quitting the app removes them from your computer.
- Screenshots and typed questions are sent with your recent conversation to the AI provider to produce an answer, and aren't stored by us.
The desktop app contains no analytics or advertising trackers. It only talks to LiveHint's servers and the sign-in page in your browser.
How we use it
- To run the service: sign you in, produce answers, personalize them with your resume and notes, and show your sessions and usage.
- To enforce plan limits and prevent abuse.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
- To contact you about your account or important changes.
We don't sell your personal information and we don't use your resumes, notes or conversations to train AI models.
Who processes it
We share data only with providers that help us run LiveHint, and only what they need:
| Provider | What they process | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Gemini API) | Interview audio, questions, screenshots, resume files, relevant resume and note content | Transcription, answers and resume parsing |
| OpenRouter and the model providers it routes to | Questions, screenshots, conversation context, relevant resume and note content | Answers, when this model route is in use |
| Google (Sign-In) | Your sign-in | Authentication |
| Our hosting and database providers | All data we store | Running the service |
These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or LiveHint.
Cookies
The website uses a single session cookie to keep you signed in to the dashboard. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/WSS). On your computer, the desktop app's sign-in token is encrypted with your operating system's keychain. Each computer has its own token, which you can revoke from the dashboard at any time. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and limit who can access it.
How long we keep it
- Account, profiles, resumes and notes: until you delete them or your account.
- Usage counts and session records: while your account exists, to show your history and enforce limits.
- Server logs: a short period, typically up to 30 days.
Your choices and rights
- Delete profiles, resumes, notes, sessions and signed-in computers yourself from the dashboard.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, for corrections, or to delete your account and everything in it by emailing [email protected]. We'll respond within 30 days.
- Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, the UK or California), you may have additional rights, such as objecting to processing or complaining to a data protection authority. Contact us and we'll help.
International transfers
We and our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Children
LiveHint is not intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and for significant changes we'll notify you by email or in the app before they take effect.
